MNDF starts defense staff talks with Pakistan

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has started defense staff talks with Pakistani Military.

The third round of Defense Staff Talks carried out in the Coast Guard building conference hall, focused on the defense cooperation between the two nations and the assistance provided by the Pakistan Army to develop human resource capabilities in the Maldivian defense sector.

The talks were headed by Vice-Chief of Defense Force Brigadier General Ahmed Shahid and Director General of foreign Military Cooperation, Major General Iftikhar Ahmad Wyne. MNDF Marine Co. Commander Brigadier General Ali Zuhair, Principal Director of Directorate of operational and training Director Brigadier General Hamid Shafeeq, Coast Guard Commander Colonel Mohamed Ibrahim, Department of International Defense Cooperation and Policy Principal Director Colonel Abdul Matheen Ahmed, Medical Service's Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Dr. Ali Shahid Mohamed participated in the staff talks. Four officials from Pakistan also took part in the staff talks.

The defense staff talks between Maldives and Pakistan started in 2015 in Maldives while the second meeting was held last year in Pakistan.
