President congratulates Maldivian Idol winners

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has extended congratulations to the winner of Maldivian Idol Season Two, Mohamed Thasneem and runner-up Hamoodh Ahmed and second runner-up Shamweel Mohamed.

In his message, President Yameen reiterated that many initiatives are being carried out for the development of youth and underscored the administration's commitment to enhancing and promotion of youth skills.

Mohamed Thasneem won season two of Maldivian Idol, a platform, which has fast become the best means of exposure and training, for up-and-coming local artists. Maldivian Idol has become a successful show that has brought new hope to the Maldivian music industry.

Maldivian Idol is a platform that stands proof to the talent that decorates this small island nation. The three judges of this season, also coincide that Maldivian Idol has brought forth a number of talented artists.

Maldivian Idol has become a valuable stage for talented musicians to make a name in the regional music scene. With season two now wrapped up, the platform has given rise to a number of talented musicians.

Judges Mariyam Unoosha, Ismail Affan and Ibrahim Zaid Ali described the show as a valuable stepping stone towards a successful career in music.  The band, too describes the platform as a 'prep school' for artists.

Maldivian Idol was introduced in 2016 based on the popular British show Pop Idol created by Simon Fuller's 19 Entertainment and developed by Fremantle Media.
