Vice Chairwoman of the Standing Committee of Hei-long-jiang Provincial People's Congress, Feng-chung has paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of Parliament Abdulla Maseeh Mohamed.
During the meeting held on Thursday morning, Speaker Maseeh noted that the Maldives and China enjoy excellent bilateral relations and said that Madam Feng-chung's visit would contribute to further strengthening of relations between the two countries. The Speaker took the opportunity to convey profound gratitude to the Government and the friendly people of China for the continued assistance extended by China towards the socio-economic development of Maldives.
During the meeting, Madam Feng-chung said that there are possible areas of cooperation that could be explored by the two legislatures so as to strengthen relations between the two countries.
Senior Parliamentarians and senior officials of the Parliament Secretariat accompanied the Speaker during the meeting. Madam Feng-chung was accompanied by members of her delegation.
