Statistics has revealed that the Maldivian Parliament has endorsed 138 bills in the first session of 2017.
The 18th Parliament's term began on the 28th of May 2014. Since then, 380 motions were presented to the parliament, out of which 376 had been passed. In the first parliament session of 2017, 143 bills were presented, out of which 138 bills have been passed, with 5 bills pending a decision by the parliament floor.
Furthermore, 122 motions were submitted by the government and approved by the parliament.
The parliament has been able to complete 98.8% of its work productively, while the recently concluded session was able to complete 97.6% of its work productively, according to the statistics. Out of the 85 members of the parliament, 34 MPs attended all parliament sittings, the statistics showed.
