Auditor General Hassan Ziyath calls for professional investment management in Maldives. He made the statement at the ceremony held at Kurumba Maldives, to inaugurate the Maldives Finance Forum 2017, organized by Maldives Pension Administration Office (MPAO).
The Auditor General said that to increase the yield and to provide risk management for a growing institutional client base, it would be important for the Maldives to establish a professional investment management system. He said that this forum acts as an instrument to attract high network individuals as well as foreign institutional investors to Maldives.

In regard to the Pension Fund, Auditor General Ziyath said that funds needs to be managed in a professional manner as it involves the rights of many individuals. He also advised all stakeholders to work side by side to create an environment for Maldives Pension Office to fulfill their legal and fiduciary responsibilities.
Maldives Finance Forum 2017 is the 6th such forum organized by MPAO. The main purpose of this forum is to provide a platform to bring together leaders from business, finance, politics, academia and social protection sector to deliberate on issues, to promote and share experiences for the development of Maldivian financial sector. The theme of this year's forum is "Investment Management Industry and Emergence of Professional Investment Management in the Maldives."
