‘Aasandha’ healthcare to be suspended for private facilities

Aasandha Company has suspended the national healthcare scheme for private healthcare facilities across the country.

The decision was made to review the management of the healthcare scheme, according to the company.

In an announcement released late Saturday night, Aasandha Company attributed this decision the fact that inpatient services, outpatient services, laboratory investigations and scanning services were available from state hospitals, free of charge. However, the company reminded that this was not a discontinuation, rather a suspension of Aasandha, until the company reviews the scheme in regard to private hospitals and clinics. They however assured that those who are currently undergoing treatment via Aasandha would be able to reap benefits from the healthcare scheme, until their treatment is complete.

In the wake of the announcement by Aasandha Company, the largest private hospital in Maldives ADK Hospital had released a press statement, announcing that due the decision by Aasandha, the hospital will no longer be able to deliver services under the national healthcare scheme.
