The Chairman of Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) Ahmed Niyaz has revealed that with the opening of the China-Maldives Friendship Bridge, a high quality transport system would be established in the greater Male' region. MTCC launched a new project in order to develop the company's transportation network.
Introducing the project, the Chairman of MTCC Ahmed Niyaz noted the numerous efforts by the company to improve the quality of its transportation service. He highlighted the company's policy to address grievances of the public in order to improve services where the public found it lacking. He also unveiled plans to upgrade the transport network and establish a system through which travel itineraries can be planned and finalized, online. He said that preparations are also underway to arrange transfers on Hulhumale's Premium Link ferry, every fifteen minutes. He added that, the existing MTCC travel cards can be used to receive all services from the company.
At the function held to launch the new project, MTCC showcased the new vessels and vehicles added to the company's transport network. These vessels can seat a maximum of 253 passengers at a time. The new busses are 88 seaters.
