Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohamed Asim has met with the Maldivian students who are facing registration issues at the University of Science and Technology Chittagong (USTC), Bangladesh.
During the meeting held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Minister briefed the students on the steps taken by the Government to resolve the issue at the earliest.
The Government of Maldives has raised the issue of registration of 28 Maldivian students with the Government of Bangladesh through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Dhaka, and requested for intervention in bringing a speedy solution to the matter. The Embassy of Maldives in Dhaka is constantly in touch with the authorities to resolve the issue. The Minister further assured the students that the Government of Maldives will continue to work with the concerned authorities of Bangladesh in order to resolve the registration issue.
The Meeting was also attended by Ambassador-designate of Maldives to Bangladesh Aishath Shaan Shakir, and the senior officials of Foreign Ministry.
