The Ministry of Health meets with foreign experts to discuss the initiative to make Maldives a TB free country.
The meeting was held between local authorities and international partners, including Stop TB Partnership, Global Fund and World Health Organization, WHO, according to the Health Ministry.
The Global Fund is an international financing organization, while Stop TB works towards achieving a TB-free world.
According to the Ministry, discussions during the meeting focused on reviewing the result of national TB elimination programme and monitoring the spread of tuberculosis amongst migrant workers.
Lucica Ditiu, Executive Director of Stop TB Partnership, Mark Dybul, Executive Director of Global Fund, Dr.Arvind Mathur, WHO Representative to Maldives, officials from Health Ministry and other local and international partners attended the meeting.
