Tourism Minister Launches Maldives TV

Minister of Tourism Moosa Zamir has officially launched Maldives TV, the first international channel of the Maldives, at ITB Berlin 2017.

Maldives TV is the first international channel of the Maldives, to be broadcasted by Public Service Media (PSM). The Maldives TV Brand was launched at World Trade Market London in November 2016.

The channel aims to promote the tourism sector in Maldives, providing the global viewers a rich content on beauty, lifestyle, culture, travel and tourism of the country. The channel would also provide a feasible opportunity for all tourism related businesses, including resorts, hotels, guest houses, travel agencies and airlines to promote and expose themselves worldwide.

“The channel would not only promote Maldives as a dream tourist destination, but also assist in the travel planning of potential tourists, by gaining knowledge on the accommodation choices that best suit their budget and requirements,” according to PSM.

The content of Maldives TV comprises of targeted programs, video clips and documentaries, where the world can experience the hypnotic beauty, mouthwatering cuisine, the rich marine life, culture, history and lifestyle of the locals. Maldives TV will be the ultimate go-to guide to the paradise on Earth, available on smartphones, laptops, gadgets and cable TVs. Maldives TV will utilise all available resources in continuously providing up-to-date information to the viewers, via the website, and social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, according to PSM.

Furthermore, an application specifically designed for Maldives TV, will also be made available, to ensure that the content of the channel is reachable at any time and place.
