Minister of Finance and Treasury, Ahmed Munawar has urged to put more effort in developing the Maldivian insurance industry.
He made the statement speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the Corporate Liabilities Seminar, organized by the Dhivehi Insurance Company. The Insurance penetration density ratio was much lower in Maldives compared to international standards, the Finance Minister Munawar said.
He further highlighted ways in which the local insurance industry can further develop and broaden its market. He also called on local companies to get more acquainted with insurance policies and to start using insurance services in their businesses.
The Corporate Liabilities Seminar, organized by the Dhivehi Insurance Company was the first such seminar held in the country. Dhivehi Insurance will organize and host similar seminars in the future, according to the company.
