President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has appealed for the support of all citizens, for all government endeavours undertaken in the interest, and for the benefit of the Maldivian people. The President made this remark while speaking at a function organised by the ruling Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM).
The President spoke extensively on the measures being taken by the administration to transform the Maldives to a middle income economy.
“Moving forward on the current development path would take Maldivians to the top of the world. I also condemned anyone trying to prevent the administration from accomplishing its developmental goals,” he said. Every citizen has a share in the collective achievements of the Maldivian people, the President further added.
Continuing in this regard, the President denied the claims by some, about the sale of North Nilandhe Atoll to a foreign party. President Yameen ascertained all citizens that the administration would disclose the details of the North Nilandhe Atoll mega project once the negotiation process was completed.
