CPI for all groups rose by +0.48 percent in January 2017: NBS

National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) says that the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for all groups rose by +0.48 percent in January 2017, compared to the rise of +0.28 percent in December 2016.

CPI for all items excluding fish rose by +0.41 percent in January 2017, compared to the rise of +0.18 percent in December 2016, according to statistics released by NBS. The statistics shows that the CPI for all groups rose by +2.91 percent through the year to January 2017, compared to rise of +2.32% through the year to December 2016.

The most significant price increase recorded in January were from secondary education, electricity, fish, vegetables, fruit, fuels and lubricants, cultural services, bread. cereals, recreational and sporting services, actual rentals paid by tenants and other appliances, articles and products for personal care.

The most significant price fall in January were recorded from Food products, pharmaceutical products, major household appliances whether or not electrical, non-durable household goods, milk, cheese and eggs.
