Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed has said the ongoing Velana International Airport development project will transform it into one of the most beautiful airports in the world.
He made the remarks while speaking at a ceremony held in Hulhule’ Monday morning to inaugurate the construction of a new runway at Velana International Airport (VIA).
Speaking about the project undertaken by the government to develop VIA, Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed said: “The project represents a new beginning in the economic transformation of the country. The project will not only improve services provided at the airport but also make it one of the most eye-catching airports in the world.”
He also noted that the enhancing and expansion of the airport and its facilities is in line with President Yameen's vision set to reinvigorate the nation's economy.
