Minister visits South Africa to seek market for tuna products

Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture Dr. Mohamed Shainee has revealed plans to hold discussions with South African businesses to seek market for canned tuna products from the Maldives.

He made the statement speaking to PSM News before his departure to South Africa to as part of the government's drive to introduce local tuna products to new markets across the globe.

The Minister also revealed that Maldivian tuna products will be introduced to the largest supermarket chain in South Africa "Woolworths" during his visit. He also assured that the government will continue its efforts to increase profits earned by fishermen.
