Chinese Assistant Foreign Minister Kong Xuanyou onSunday paid a courtesy call on Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohamed Asim.
“During the call, the Minister of Foreign Affairsof Maldives and the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of China exchangedviews on further strengthening the bilateral relations between the twocountries,” the Foreign Ministry said. “Minister Asim highlighted theinvaluable contributions made by China over the recent years to thesocio-economic development of the Maldives and, on behalf of the Government,thanked the Government of China for the numerous development projects currentlyongoing in the Maldives under the assistance of China.”
Foreign Minister Asim was accompanied by AhmedKhaleel, Secretary, Bilateral, Aishath Azeema, Joint Secretary, and AhmedFazeel, Director at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
On Sunday, Foreign Minister Asim also hosted an officialluncheon in honour of the Assistant Minister.
