Maldives & Saudi Arabia discuss economic & investment cooperation

The Maldives Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Abdulla Hameed has met with the Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) Secretary General Saud Al Meshari to discuss economic and investment cooperation between the two countries.

At the meeting, Ambassador Hameed assured the Maldives’ keenness on increasing bilateral trade and investments with their Saudi counterpart through entering into partnerships and alliances that further enhance their relations. He expressed the interest of many Maldivian companies to visit the Kingdom in the upcoming period to seek new channels for trade cooperation and explore the Saudi market in its different sectors.

Al Meshari noted the Saudi-Maldivian relations, especially on the economic and commercial front, expressing CSC’s readiness to asset in enhancing these relations in any way possible.

The meeting touched on the significance of exchanging business delegations between the two countries, and attracting Saudi investors to the Maldivian market, especially its renowned tourist sector, as well as its fishing industry as the country is located in the vast and rich Indian Ocean, according to CSC.
