Cases filed with ACC increased 15% in 2016

The number of cases registered with the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) increased 15% in 2016 as compared to the year before, the Commission said.

958 cases were lodged during 2016, while the number stood at 832 the previous year, statistics released by ACC showed. 764 cases were concluded last year, up from 611 cases in 2015.

148 cases were rejected last year due to insufficient evidence, while 47 cases were forwarded to relevant state institutions, according to ACC.
