Foreign Minister attends Chinese Spring Festival Reception

Ministerof Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohamed Asim on Tuesday attended the reception tocelebrate the 2017 Spring Festival as the Chief Guest.

Whileaddressing the function, Minister Asim conveyed warm greetings on behalf ofPresident Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and the People of Maldives to PresidentXi Jinping and the friendly people of China on this auspicious occasion.

MinisterAsim highlighted the close relationship between Maldives and China. He alsounderscored that “this year will be a historical year for the two countries aswe mark the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.”

Thereception organised by Chinese Embassy in Maldives was held at Hotel Jen.
