Maldives sees 4.2% increase in tourist arrivals in 2016

Tourist arrivals to the Maldives increased 4.2 percent in 2016 compared to 2015, the Ministry of Tourism has said.

Statistics released by the Ministry show that 1.28 million tourists visited the country in 2016, while the number stood at 1.23 million in 2015.

The country received most tourists from China, Germany, England and India, according to the statistics.
