Foreign Minister Dr. Mohamed Asim has returned to Male' after concluding his first bilateral official visit to China.
During the visit, Minister Asim paid a courtesy call on the Vice President of China, Li Yuanchao and met with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi. At the meetings, he exchanged views on further strengthening the close bilateral relations between the two countries. The Minister also met the President of AIIB, Jin Liqun and the President of China EXIM Bank, Liu Lianke.
Minister Asim visited Dalian City of China and met with the Mayor of Dalian City, Xiao Shengfeng. The Maldives was awarded two scholarships during the Minister's meeting with the Vice Chancellor of Dalian Medical University, Zhao Jie. He also met Maldivian students at Dalian Medical University.
Foreign Minister Asim was accompanied by Ahmed Khaleel, Secretary, Bilateral, and Hussain Shareef, Desk Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
