Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Asim on Wednesday began an official visit to China.
Upon his arrival at the Beijing Capital International Airport, the Minister was received by Ambassador of Maldives to China, Dr. Mohamed Faisal, and senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China.
Dr. Asim is scheduled call on the Vice President of China and to meet with the Foreign Minister of China and discuss strengthening relations between the two countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement published on its website. He is also scheduled to meet the President of AIIB and the President of China EXIM Bank during the visit.
Foreign Minister Asim is accompanied by Bilateral Secretary Ahmed Khaleel and Desk Officer at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hussain Shareef.
