President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has said that 2016 was a success in achieving key Administration pledges.
The President, , in his New Year’s message, sent warm greetings on the occasion to all Maldivians, stating that “the past year had graced us with peace and harmony and that meaningful action was taken on several fronts to fulfil the basic needs of Maldivians.”
Additionally, the President highlighted that in 2016, various development projects were initiated throughout the country. He also highlighted various measures undertaken in 2016 to promote youth empowerment; specifically to increase youth employment.
In his message, the President expressed hope that major development projects launched in 2016 would be completed in 2017.
