Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) is to conduct a survey on the spending habits of Maldivians abroad, starting from tomorrow.
MMA revealed that it will ask travelers the details of the countries they visit, the duration, and the expenditure they made.
MMA further said that the purpose of the survey is to establish a record of financial interactions between Maldivians and foreigners.
The survey will go ahead at INIA from 24th to 30th of this month.
The Maldives Central Bank conducted a similar survey at the Ibrahim Nasir International Airport (INIA) last year.
