HDC Completes Shoreline Protection Project in Hulhumale'

Housing Development Corporation (HDC) says shoreline protection project of newly reclaimed land in the 2nd phase of Hulhumale' development project has been completed.

HDC administered the reclamation of 240 hectares of land in the second phase of Hulhumale', in 2015.

HDC said the aim is to rapidly populate the second phase and therefore, develop housing units in the newly reclaimed area.

According to HDC, the corporation has already signed agreements with several construction firms to build over ten thousand housing units.

The Housing Corporation further noted that multiple projects are been carried out in the second phase of Hulhumale'.

The Corporation revealed that work to establish electricity and sewerage systems are been carried out in Hulhumale'.

HDC highlighted that the work to construct a network of roads in the second phase has also been initiated.

HDC plans to populate a community of hundred thousand people in the second phase of Hulhumale'.
