The non-resident Ambassador of South Africa, Robina Patricia Marks presents her Letter of Credence to President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
At the ceremony held Monday afternoon at the President’s Office, the President welcomed Ambassador Marks to the Maldives and congratulated the Ambassador on the commencement of her term.
The President also expressed hope that the relations between Maldives and South Africa would further strengthen during the Ambassador’s term.
During the call, the President noted the enhanced commercial advancement in South Africa and discussed on elevating the existing trade and commercial relations between the Maldives and South Africa to new heights.
In this regard, the President briefed the Ambassador on the fruitful economic transformations the Government of Maldives has undertaken in order to increase trade and development, during the past 3 years.
The President also expressed hope and confidence for further high level engagement and cooperation between the Maldives and South Africa in the years to come.
The Ambassador conveyed her appreciation for receiving her and expressed hope and confidence in the support and engagement between the Maldives and South Africa in the future.
