President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has met with Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Razak on the side-lines of the United Malays National Organization (UMNO) General Assembly.
During the meeting held Thursday, the President and the Prime Minister discussed on exploring avenues of greater cooperation to elevate the long existing ties of friendship and collaboration between Maldives and Malaysia, the President’s Office. The President also expressed his confidence in the continued engagement and assistance from Malaysia, and that the two countries would further strengthen the brotherly relations in the years to come, it said.
Prior to the meeting with the Prime Minister, the President attended the inaugural ceremony of the UMNO General Assembly held at the Putrajaya World Trade Centre.
