Contractors assigned to three waste-related projects

The Ministry of Environment and Energy has assigned contractors to three different projects related to waste management.

They include projects to construct the boundary walls of waste management areas and the supply and delivery of waste management equipment to 4 islands in the south of Maldives.

The project to construct the boundary wall of the waste management area at Male’ Industrial Village was awarded to Maldives Real Estate Investment Corporation.

Under the agreement, the MVR797,000 project has to be completed within 35 days.

The project to construct the boundary wall of the Waste Management Centre in Villimale’ was awarded to Thashisha Private Limited. The total cost of the project is MVR372,000 and has to be completed within 48 days.

The supply and delivery of waste management equipment to four islands was awarded to Niomed Maldives Private Limited.

The four islands include Villigili of Gaafu Alifu Atoll, Thinadhoo of Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, Fuvahmulah City, and Hulhumeedhoo of Addu city. The total cost of the project is MVR7.3 million.

According to the Environment Ministry, All three projects are financed through the Public Service Investment Programme (PSIP) budget.
