President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim attend a ceremony held at the Alimas Carnival Monday night to celebrate three years of the administration's success.
The special ceremony was organised by top government officials in collaboration with various government organizations.
Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Tourism, Moosa Zameer said the Yameen administration has done more for the benefit of the citizens than any other previous administration. He also noted that the expansion of Ibrahim Nasir International Airport would double the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
He also noted that 22 new tourist resorts will be opened by the end of this year.
Housing Minister Mohamed Muizzu also spoke at the ceremony. He stated that the citizens have accepted the development agenda of President Yameen and urged the government authorities to unite behind the government.
At the ceremony, Deputy Managing Director of Public Service Media (PSM), Mohamed Ikram said President Yameen’s administration has significantly improved the lives of the people and praised the decisions taken by the President.
During the ceremony, the administration's key achievements, and milestones in socio-economic and urban development, were highlighted.
Along with the President, Vice President Abdullah Jihad, Cabinet Ministers, Parliament members, senior officials of the government, civil servants and members of the public participated in the celebrations.
