Firefighters put out warehouse fire in Male’ City

MNDF firefighters extinguished a fire that broke out at a warehouse in Machchangoalhi ward of Male’ City on Monday.

No one was hurt in the incident except two firefighters who suffered varying injuries during the operation. The warehouse which contained cosmetics and electronic items was completely destroyed in the fire that broke out around midday.

The blaze raged for over two hours and spread to the nearby homes before firefighters were able to bring it under control.

The authorities evacuated dozens of people to safety and placed them under the care of National Disaster Management Centre.
