Maldives Medical & Health Expo opens in Malé

The first Maldives Medical and Health Expo opened at the National Art Gallery on Thursday.

The expo, organised by private company MV Medicals, was officially inaugurated by Minister of State for Health Dr Mohamed Habeeb.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, the State Minister highlighted the progress achieved by the country’s health sector in the past few years, adding that many people are still not aware of the services available in the country and they travel abroad for medical treatment that are already available in the country.

He expressed hope that the exhibition would help inform the general public about the medial services available in the country.

At the inaugural function, Manager of Marketing and Public Relations at MV Medicals Abdulla Jaleel Hussein revealed the company is planning to organise similar events in the future.

Seven health service providers from Maldives including the two biggest hospitals in the country, Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital and ADK Hospital are taking part in the expo along with 7 hospitals from India.

MV Medicals says the exhibition is aimed at introducing and promoting world-class medical facilities and technologies in the Maldives.

MV Medicals was established in 2014 with the vision of taking the country’s medical industry to a new step with new entrepreneurial ideas.
