Watercress becomes first investment fund in Maldives

Watercress Growth Fund Private Limited has become the first investment fund to be registered in the Maldives.

Capital Market Development Authority (CMDA) handed over the registration certificate to Watercress Growth Fund at a function held at CMDA on Monday.

Speaking at the function, Chairperson of CMDA, Ahmed Naseer noted the importance of investment funds for the development of small and medium businesses.

CMDA says it is working to create a favourable environment for investment activities and ease access to funding for local businesses.
