Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) has revealed that it collected MVR888.4 million as revenue in October, a 23.8 percent increase compared to October 2015.
This puts the total revenue collected by MIRA so far this year at MVR12.2 billion, which is a 9 percent increase compared to the same period last year, it said.
Statistics released by MIRA showed that most of the revenue was collected through goods and services tax (GST), which accounted for 61.4 percent of the total revenue. It collected MVR545.2 million as GST in October 2016.
