Maldives wins Best Remote Beach Destination Award

The Maldives has won the “Best Remote Beach Destination” Award at the 29th Annual CondéNast Traveller Readers’ Choice Awards Middle East.

The country alongside Seychelles and Zanzibar were the nominees for the Best Remote Beach Destination category.

At a ceremony held at Park Hyatt Dubai, the award was collected on behalf of the Maldives by Counsellor for the Embassy of Maldives in Abu Dhabi, Musab Abdulla.

Condé Nast Traveller is a luxury travel magazine aimed at the upmarket, independent traveller having its editions targeting different regions of the world.  Started in 1997, Condé Nast Traveller runs several industry-recognised awards, the most important being the Condé Nast Traveller Readers' Choice Awards, which take place every year. Apart from the Reader’s Choice in the Middle East there is also UK, USA and Asia regions Readers’ Choice awards.

More than 300,000 travellers took part in this year’s Reader’s Choice Awards Survey, breaking records by submitting millions of ratings and over 75,000 comments that led to the short listing of the winning favourites.  

Apart from the winning the Best Remote Beach Destination Award, Dusit Thani Maldives earned the award for the Favourite Hotel or Resort for Families.
