Defence Minister establishes national security think tank

Minister of Defence and National Security, Adam Shareef Umar has set up a national security think tank to facilitate efforts to achieve the objectives the country’s armed forces.

The first meeting of the think tank committee was held Tuesday, with discussion focused on further developing the military and drawing up plans for the future, according to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF).

The committee is comprised of current and former senior military officers.
