Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed and his Indian counterpart met in the Indian capital New Delhi on Tuesday and exchanged views on enhancing trade relations between the two countries.
Speaking to PSM News, Deputy Economic Minister Adam Thaufeeq said Minister Saeed and Minister of State for the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India, Nirmala Sitharaman discussed ways to further strengthen economic cooperation, trade and investment between India and the Maldives.
They also discussed economic policies of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Thaufeeq said.
During his visit, the minister is also scheduled to meet with senior members of the Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Minister Saeed will also oversee the final preparations for the 3rd Maldives Investment Forum to be held from November 21 to 22 of in New Delhi.
