Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed said on Thursday that the country under President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom had seen unprecedented development equivalent to that of the past 40 years.
The minister, appearing on PSM Raajje Miadhu programme Thursday night, said “the country is experiencing unprecedented economic growth and development since President Yameen assumed office three year ago.”
Saeed highlighted the ongoing infrastructure development projects across the country, and expansion within the tourism industry, adding that a country cannot have true independence without economic independence.
The minister commended President Yameen for having rescued the country’s economy from imminent collapse since taking office, and urged all citizens to support President Yameen in his efforts to uphold the country’s independence and sovereignty.
