Chief Justice concludes official visit to India

Chief Justice Abdulla Saeed has concluded an official visit to India at the invitation of his Indian counterpart.

During the visit, the Chief Justice attended the “Global Conference on National Initiative towards Strengthening Arbitration and Enforcement in India”.

The conference was aimed at providing a platform to the Indian legal and policy making fraternity to engage with the broader international commercial arbitration community especially the top-tier international arbitral institutions and stakeholders.

At the 3-day conference, was also attended by chief justices from Bhutan, Bangladesh and Singapore, Chief Justice Saeed gave details about the arbitration procedures in the Maldives.

During his visit, Chief Justic Abdullah Saeed also held one-on-one meetings with counterparts from India and Singapore, and discussed ways to further bolster judicial cooperation.

The Chief Justice was accompanied on the visit by the Supreme Court Judge Ahmed Abdulla Didi and Registrar of the Supreme Court Mariyam Shamma Ismail.
