A business forum has commenced in Naifaru Island of Lhaviyani Atoll.
The forum, being held at Naifaru Villa College Campus, will see discussions on ways to further promote small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) at island and atoll level, the ministry said.
It is part of the “Partnering for Development” (P4D) programme, undertaken by the government in collaboration with UNDP.
The programme seeks to establish a platform that would link emerging local Micro and SMEs with already established industry stakeholders and businesses from high income generating sectors, the ministry said, and it is also a venue for discussing developmental challenges faced by the country and to facilitate partnerships between private sector and the government in addressing such challenges.
