The Chinese Embassy in Maldives on Monday donated 19 computer systems to Maldives Autism Association.
The association said the computer systems will be used in its new building which is currently under development in Hulhumalé.
Speaking at the function held to sign the agreement, Managing Director of the association – Ifham Hussein thanked the Chinese Government for the generous assistance. She expressed hope of completing the construction of the new building before the stary of the new Academic Year.
Speaking at the function, Chinese Ambassador to the Maldives Wang Fukan highlighted the close and historic ties between the Maldives and China. He further assured continued support and assistance to the Maldives Government and civil society organisations.
93 students are currently registered with the Autism Association, which employs 33 specially trained teachers.
