Progressive Party of Maldives, PPM on Monday reopened nominations for those seeking party tickets to contest the upcoming local council elections.
At a press conference held in Dharubaaruge, Secretary General of PPM and MP for Nilandhoo Abdulla Khaleel said “they have cancelled all nominations filed when the party was run by former president Moumoon Abdul Gayoom.” He urged those who had already filed candidacy to resubmit their nomination papers, saying that the party would make a convenient arrangement to do it. Nomination forms have to be submitted to PPM Office located in Dharubaaruge, and the deadline for filing nominations is the 6th of November, Dr. Khaleel further said.
PPM said atoll-based members seeking party tickets can download the new nomination form and submit the papers through the party’s website.
