The President’s Office has announced that the official function celebrating this year’s Republic Day will be held on 10th November 2016, starting 8:30 in the evening at Dharubaaruge.
The Republic Day of the Maldives is 11th November.
While President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom is set to address the nation, the annual National Award of Honour and the National Award of Recognition will also be conferred during the Republic Day function, the President’s Office said.
In addition, The President’s Medal will be conferred to individuals who have committed the Quran in its entirety to memory, to students placed in the world top ten in the 2015 IGCSE & GCE O’level examinations, and for the students who were placed in the world top ten in the 2016 A’level examinations, it added.
