President reaffirms commitment to strengthening cooperation with Egypt

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed his commitment to working closely with Egypt and further expanding cooperation between the two countries across several key areas.

The President made the remarks during a farewell call by Adel Ibrahim, Non-Resident Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to the Republic of Maldives, at the President’s Office.

During the meeting, President Dr Muizzu expressed confidence that cooperation between the Maldives and Egypt would continue to grow in areas including culture, tourism, education, security and defence.

The President also expressed gratitude to Egypt for providing higher education scholarships to Maldivian students and acknowledged the valuable services provided by Egyptian medical professionals in the Maldives.

President Dr Muizzu commended Ambassador Adel Ibrahim for his efforts to further strengthen bilateral relations during his tenure.

He also conveyed his appreciation to the government and people of Egypt for their longstanding friendship with the Maldives.

The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to further strengthening the longstanding relations between the Maldives and Egypt.
