Maldives and Saudi Arabia reaffirm commitment to stronger bilateral ties

The Maldives and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening their long-standing bilateral relationship during a courtesy call by a Saudi delegation on President Dr Mohamed Muizzu at the President’s Office.

The visiting delegation was accompanied by the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the Maldives, Yahya Hassan Al-Qahtani.

During the meeting, President Muizzu expressed his appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, for the Kingdom’s enduring generosity and steadfast cooperation in supporting the Maldives’ socioeconomic development.

The Saudi delegation thanked the President and the Government of the Maldives for the warm welcome and hospitality extended during the visit.

The meeting concluded with both sides reiterating their shared interest in further strengthening the close and brotherly relations between the two nations. Cabinet ministers and senior officials from the President’s Office were also in attendance.
