ACC begins implementation of procedure governing whistleblowing

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Saturday began implementation of its Procedure of Whistleblowers for Offences of Corruption. The procedure came into effect on October 13.

The procedure contains instructions on whistleblowing, types of protection provided to the whistleblowers, and the procedures adopted by the Commission to ensure their protection.

According to ACC, protection under the procedure will be provided for persons reporting offences of corruption along with their own identification to the Commission.

Under the procedure, ACC will take measures to ensure that the whistleblowers are provided protection of their personal information, protection from abuse of employee rights, protection from physical retaliation and protection from any human rights abuse that they may be subjected to due to whistleblowing, it said.
