Ooredoo Maldives announces plans to go public in 2017

Ooredoo Maldives announced on Wednesday its intention to launch an initial public offering next year.

The privately-owned telecom provider will be officially listed on the Maldives Stock Exchange (MSE) at a function to be held Thursday evening.

According to MSE, new companies listed on the exchange will be given a specified period to prepare and announce a subscription period for its initial public offering.

It expects Ooredoo Maldives will open subscription for its proposed IPO during the first half of 2017.

A total of ten companies are listed on the Maldives Stock Exchange.
