President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom returned to Male’ on Thursday after concluding his official visit to Saudi Arabia.
During his visit, President Yameen met with King Salman bin Abdul Aziz Al-Saud and discussed issues of mutual interest to the Maldives and Saudi Arabia. The President also had separate meetings with Ministers of the Saudi Government, where discussions were focused on further strengthening the long existing ties between the brotherly nations.
President Yameen was accompanied by a high-level delegation that included Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Asim, Minister of Economic Development, Mohamed Saeed, Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture Dr. Mohamed Shainee, Minister of State, Foreign Relations, at the President’s Office, Mohamed Naseer, and Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Abdulla Hameed.
