Saudi Arabia’s Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al-Saud on Wednesday paid a courtesy call on President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom.
Speaking at the meeting held Wednesday morning at the King Saud Guest Palace, Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed solidarity with Maldives in all matters and pledged continued partnership between the two countries.
The Deputy Crown Prince also stated that Saudi Arabia will be supportive of Maldives in the international arena. Prince Mohammed emphasised on the fact that Maldives is poised to reap the benefit of regional progress. Deputy Crown Prince reaffirmed that Saudi Arabia will continue to support development on the ground of Maldives.
During the call, President briefed the Deputy Crown Prince on developmental projects and socioeconomic agenda planned for Maldives. President also conversed about international engagements of the country and further deliberated on regional progress and security. President Yameen further highlighted that the whole purpose of his administration is to bring growth to the country.
The president was accompanied at the meeting by a high-level delegation that includes Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Asim, Minister of Economic Development, Mohamed Saeed, Minister of Fisheries and Agriculture Dr. Mohamed Shainee, Minister of State, Foreign Relations, at the President’s Office, Mohamed Naseer, and Ambassador of the Republic of Maldives to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Abdulla Hameed.
