Foreign Minister named Diplomat of the Year for Asia and Oceania

The Diplomat magazine has awarded the title of Diplomat of the Year 2026 for Asia and Oceania to the Maldives’ Foreign Minister, Iruthisham Adam.

The recognition was announced in a social media post, which highlighted her contributions to diplomacy during her tenure as the Maldives’ Ambassador to the United Kingdom.

During her time in London, Minister Iruthisham Adam played a key role in managing and strengthening diplomatic relations between Maldives and the UK. The award acknowledges her efforts as the Maldives continues to maintain international partnerships across several key sectors.

Iruthisham Adam was recently appointed as Foreign Minister following a cabinet reshuffle by President Dr Mohamed Muizzu.
