Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure on Wednesday said a team of experts is currently surveying the 17-kilometre link road in Laamu Atoll.
The link road project was completed in August.
According to the Ministry, the survey is conducted to evaluate the quality of the road ahead of its official inauguration.
“The team of engineering experts will assess the quality of the road development works carried out by the contractor and submit their findings in the form of a report,” the Ministry said.
Speaking about the Laamu Link Road Development Project, Laamu Atoll Council President Yusuf Amir said their “top priority at the moment is to draw up a guideline on the use of the road.”
The MVR30 million project is funded through grant aid from the Chinese government.
